Quick Cosmetic Corrections-Split Second Plastic Surgery-Torn Earlobe & Inverted Nipple

Many of us have little things about our appearance that bother us or minor physical abnormalities that we wish did not exist, but rarely do the tiny things that are of no consequence to our overall health rank high on the priority list in terms of things to address with a doctor.  What if someone told you that the little things you wish were different can be easily corrected?  Would they become a priority?  Check out the latest “Quick Cosmetic Corrections” and see if split second surgery is next on your agenda!

The Torn Earlobe

Earlobes have to take a lot of abuse.  Things like babies pulling on earrings, the constant pressure on the ear from telephones, and the tug of heavy earrings, all put the delicate earlobe in a precarious place where it can tear or stretch out.

Luckily, the fix for fragile earlobes is simple, quick, inexpensive, and very effective in getting the earlobe back to “normal”.

Here’s how it goes… the ear gets sprayed with “instant cold”, a local anesthetic is applied, the lobe is “put back together” and stitches are placed on the front and back side of the ear, an antibiotic ointment is applied to the ear and voila- instant ear repair!  Well, to be fair, it is probably more like a fifteen minute ear repair.    Seven days later, the stitches are removed.  Six weeks or so later, the ear can be re-pierced in the office using one’s favorite stud-type earring.

An Inverted Nipple

It is not uncommon for women and men to be born with a highly treatable condition called inverted nipple, a term which refers to a nipple that is tucked inward rather than protruding despite temperature variation or stimulation.  In general, it can affect one or both breasts, and can be a cause of cosmetic concern.

Fortunately, the treatment is, more often than not, simple and safe, and can be performed in office under a local anesthetic.  The procedure takes approximately 20-30 minutes and is quite predictable and successful in rectifying the condition!
